Within a mere two years, he found himself pitting his skills against seasoned trick shot professionals who had been honing their craft before he was born. Florian’s videos have garnered a staggering billion views worldwide. This internet sensation is revolutionizing the sport, infusing it with his boundless creativity and innovative spirit. Today, he boasts the title of two-time World Cup of Trick Shots Winner and holds an impressive tally of 12 Guinness World Records.

JAPA renews partnership with Dynaspheres

Dynaspheres is thrilled to announce that the exclusive partnership with JAPA has been extended until 2026. JAPA, the Japan Amateur Pocket Billiards Association, initially decided to use Dynaspheres balls for at all their events in 2020 and 2021, but now extended that cooperation until and including 2026. The agreement concerns all National Championships, National Leagues, and Tournaments, organized by JAPA.

Shane Van Boening is 9 Ball Champion of the world

Last weekend, Shane Van Boening became the World Champion after winning the 2022 World Pool Championship final at Milton Keynes, UK.

It was an exciting and breathtaking duel between Van Boening and his opponent, Ouschan. After a 6-6 tie between the two modern greats, Van Boening ran home with an expert performance. He left Ouschan with few opportunities at the table as he wrapped up an emotional 13-6 win.

HCSB wins lawsuit against RFBB

RANST, 3 december 2021 – Bij vonnis van de Ondernemingsrechtbank te Leuven van 30 november 2021 werd de KBBB op verzoek van HCSB onder verbeurte van een dwangsom het verbod opgelegd om exclusieve rechten voor haar tornooien te verlenen zonder een voorafgaandelijk correcte aanbesteding en dit onder verbeurte van een dwangsom van 1000 EUR per dag. De rechtbank oordeelde dat de KBBB op haar tornooien misbruik heeft gemaakt van haar machtspositie en dat zij verboden kartelafspraken heeft gemaakt met de NV SALUC, biljartballenfabrikant, en met de NV VERHOEVEN BILJARTFABRIEK, biljarttafelfabrikant.

Dit vonnis is een belangrijk precedent, niet alleen in de biljartwereld, maar in de volledige sportwereld, op basis waarvan alle sportfederaties die competities of tornooien organiseren voortaan zullen moeten nagaan of zij de hieraan verbonden exclusieve rechten niet via aanbesteding moeten toewijzen.

HCSB is de Belgische vennootschap achter de merken DYNASPHERES en GABRIELS BILLIARDS en is onder die benamingen een wereldwijde verdeler van respectievelijk biljartballen (https://www.dynaspheres.com) en biljarttafels (https://www.gabrielsbilliards.com). De KBBB is de nationale sportbond voor carambole-biljart, erkend door het BOIC en de Union Mondiale de Billard.

HCSB wenst reeds geruime tijd actief te zijn op de Belgische markt maar stelde vast dat dit vaak werd verhinderd door de bestaande hechte relaties tussen een aantal aan biljart gelieerde sportfederaties en concurrerende ondernemingen. Gelet op het beperkt aantal spelers op de markt van biljartbenodigdheden is meer concurrentie in het belang van HCSB maar ook in het belang van alle biljartspelers, biljartclubs en zelfs de diverse biljartfederaties (driebanden, snooker, pool en golfbiljart).

Na een aantal recente beslissingen inzake mededingingsrecht van onder meer het Belgisch Arbitragehof voor de Sport (BAS) ten aanzien van de KBBB en van de Belgische Mededingingsautoriteit (BMA) ten aanzien van de Belgische Golfbiljartbond, kon HCSB bekomen dat haar producten werden goedgekeurd binnen de diverse aan biljart gelieerde sportfederaties. Sportfederaties, die een machtspositie hebben, mogen volgens voornoemde uitspraken immers zonder gegronde reden niet beslissen om slechts één merk van sportmateriaal toe te laten.

HCSB stelde echter vast dat de KBBB na deze uitspraken alsnog met de NV SALUC (Aramith biljartballen & Simonis biljartlakens) en met de NV VERHOEVEN BILJARTFABRIEK (biljarttafels) exclusieve sponsor-overeenkomsten voor een periode van vier jaar sloot voor wat betreft haar belangrijkste tornooien, te weten de Belgische kampioenschappen, de Belgische Beker van België en de Belgische jeugdkampioenschappen. Enkel de reclame en het materiaal van deze fabrikanten wordt hierdoor op deze evenementen toegelaten.

Omdat HSBC meent dat hierdoor sprake is van verboden kartelafspraken conform art. IV.1 WER en art. 101 VWEU en dat de KBBB door deze overeenkomsten misbruik maakt van haar machtspositie conform art. IV.2 WER en art. 102 VWEU, wendde ze zich met bijstand van Mr. BAERT en Mr. DE MEULENAER van het kantoor Everest tot de stakingsrechter met het verzoek om de KBBB te verbieden om exclusiviteit aan partners toe te kennen zonder daartoe voorafgaandelijk een objectieve en transparante aanbesteding te organiseren. Door de belangrijkste tornooien op onrechtmatige wijze af te schermen van HCSB kreeg HCSB onvoldoende toegang tot de markt van de biljartbenodigdheden.

De Rechtbank volgde deze redenering en oordeelde dat de KBBB het mededingingsrecht schendt door vanuit een absolute machtspositie aan bepaalde leveranciers van biljartbenodigdheden exclusieve rechten te verlenen met betrekking tot haar nationale biljartwedstrijden. De rechtbank beveelt de KBBB om deze schendingen van het mededingingsrecht onmiddellijk te stoppen onder verbeurte van een dwangsom van 1.000 EUR per dag.

In meer algemene termen is de rechtbank van oordeel dat sportfederaties, die in de meeste gevallen een machtspositie hebben op het gebied van het organiseren, reguleren en beheren van sportwedstrijden, het mededingingsrecht moeten respecteren en dat zij voor hun evenementen niet zonder meer exclusiviteit aan partners mogen verlenen.

Volgens Mathieu BAERT (Everest), raadsman van de BV HCSB, zullen ingevolge deze uitspraak voortaan ook in andere sectoren sportfederaties die een kampioenschap of tornooi organiseren moeten nagaan of ze de rechten die hieraan verbonden zijn en die zij aan derden willen verlenen niet het voorwerp moeten uitmaken van een voorafgaande aanbestedingsprocedure. Het belang van deze beslissing reikt dan ook verder dan de biljartwereld.

‘Queen of the Hill’ LoreeJon Hasson joins Dynaspheres as Ambassador

It is our privilege to welcome Mrs. Hasson as ambassador. She started playing at the age of 4 at home and became a pro player at the age of 11 with the Women’s Professional Billiard Association. LoreeJon Hasson is known as ‘Queen of the Hill’, a nickname well deserved. At age 15, she won the World Straight Pool Championship, which also got her in the Guiness Book of World Records as the youngest player (male or female) to win a world pocket billiard title.

Mrs. Hasson continued to rake in the titles and she is in the Hall of Fame of both Billiard Congress of America and Women’s Professional Billiard Association. She holds over 50 major titles and won every possible title in the women’s pool circuit. Her most notable victories are 8 World Championships, 3 US Opens and 3 WPBA National Championships.

LoreeJon retired for a bit, but decided to return to the professional circuit in 2017, winning the Diamond Pro Women’s 9 Ball Championship. Welcome back and welcome to the Dynaspheres-team!

Dynaspheres welcomes 4 new South Korean ambassadors

We are proud to announce that the past months, no less than four top tear players from South-Korea have joined us as brand ambassadors. 1 pool player and 3 carom players are newly representing the Dynaspheres brand.

BO-MI KWON / POOL

Bo-Mi KWON, ranked number 7 in her native country, started playing pool in 2011. She won the 2nd National Pool Tour of South-Korea in 2019. We’re very happy that she’s wearing the Dynaspheres logo and representing us on the pool circuit.

HYEON-JI YONG / CAROM

Ranked number 3 nationally and number 10 worldwide, it’s safe to say that Hyeon-Ji YONG is presently one of the best female carom players. In 2019, she was the runner up for the Asian Cup and the runner up 3 times for Women National Tournaments. Hyeon-Ji started playing carom in 2011 and we can’t wait to see her back in action, as a Dynaspheres ambassador.

JI-EUN HAN / CAROM

Ji-Eun HAN ranks 4th in South-Korea and has been playing carom since 2011. She started her carom career in 2011 and won the NY Verhoeven Open in 2019. Cant’ wait what else she has in store for us, as our brands representative.

JUN-TAE KIM / CAROM

Started in 2009, Jun-Tae KIM ranks 8th nationally and 30th on the world ranking as a carom player. In 2019, he placed 3rd at the Korea Guri Worldcup. He recently played the UMB Virtual OneCarom Challenge were he made it to the semi-finale. Exciting to see him play wearing the Dynaspheres logo and can’ wait for more!
